It was all busy in the school garden and forest school area as children in Morgan class planted trees donated by the Tree Council. Five trees were planted in all, a pear, a Victoria plum, a cherry and 2 apple trees and the children will be responsible for looking after these and checking on their growth.

Do you remember the programme ‘What’s My Line?’, well pupils at Greenfylde First School in Ilminster got their first go at this as part of an online webinar for National Careers Week.  Pupils in Years 3 and 4 got to meet three people and listen to them describe their careers and then guess what these might be. Greenfylde School pupils  – both at home and at school – enjoyed World Book Day in the usual way by dressing up and celebrating book characters old and new. The day started with an assembly which was interrupted by the news that suspicious characters had been seen in the school yesterday night, but had left in a hurry and forgotten

Children at home and at school enjoyed a Fairtrade learning day as they found out more about this year’s theme ‘Choose the World You Want’. Learning first hand about growing Fairtrade produce across the world, pupils thought about the Fairtrade products they see in their everyday lives and gained more insight in how these products reach them as final consumers.
