On Friday 7th May, Greenfylde First School once again ‘Dressed Up For Digits’ in aid of the NSPCC’s National Number Day. Children were encouraged to turn up in clothing with digits on them whilst raising money for the NSPCC and taking part in a range of practical number activities. These included taking part in a National TT Rockstars ‘NSPCC ROCKS’ competition for times tables via the IPADs and other activities such as designing new number games, placing decimals and fractions on human sized number lines, dice games, 4 in a row addition and bingo amongst many more. Great fun was had by all and Buddy the NSPCC’s mascot even made an appearance in each class! Thanks go to Mr Richard Lewis, Greenfylde’s Maths Lead for organising this day and to all the families who contributed to support the work of the NSPCC.
